Branding Package DEVELOPMENT

For the following projects, I was responsible for the overall design and production of promotional materials and graphics, including layout, typesetting, logo creation, illustration, and image manipulation. I worked with my supervisor and the university marketing department in order to come up with a distinct and recognizable visual identity for each event and program while still adhering to UND's brand guidelines.

I. Three Minute Thesis (3MT)

The Three Minute Thesis is a worldwide competition in which graduate students are asked to present to present a summary of their research within a 3-minute time limit.

Responsibilities: Print/digital layout, typesetting, brand identity development, template creation

II. Graduate Student Appreciation Week

Graduate Student Appreciation Week is a yearly event held at certain universities that celebrates the efforts of graduate students and often includes social gatherings and prize raffles. I created original illustrations for this series of graphics in order to emphasize the exciting, communal nature of the event and add more visual interest for social media advertising.

Responsibilities: Print/digital layout, typesetting, illustration

III. Accelerate to Industry™ (A2i) Program

Accelerate to Industry™ is a collegiate program that is focused on providing career development resources and training for graduate students in order to help them better transition into the workforce.

GENERAL GRAPHICS

As a member of the UND School of Graduate Studies, I was also responsible for developing designs and promotional materials for internal use. The following works were created while considering their ability to convey a clear sense of the university's brand and engage its faculty, staff, and students.

I. Merchandise Design

I developed various designs for the production of physical merchandise that incorporated the UND graduate school's logos. Because each design needed to be readable and clear when printed on products of varying shapes and sizes, I utilized minimalism and simplified layouts to increase versatility.

Responsibilities: Logo design, brand identity development

II. Email Newsletter Design

I created the graphics and layout for email newsletters using HTML/CSS and the MailPoet plugin for Wordpress. All designs were tested for compatibility and consistency on both desktop and mobile before being publicly released.

Responsibilities: Web design, digital layout

III. Workshop and Event Promotions

To promote internal workshops and events held by UND's graduate school, I designed graphics for digital television display and social media. To create an eye-catching effect, I placed an emphasis on appealing imagery and large headlines.

Responsibilities: Digital layout, typesetting, logo creation
